We live in a world of rapid and tremendous
transformations. Change management which originated as Kurt
Lewin’s sociological-inspired paradigm is now the buzz
word in organizations as they try to align themselves towards
relevance in a toss-up world of business and organization development.
Asia, as it is becoming more apparent as
a global business force, must equally face up to the reality
that organizational sciences are critical in the evolution
of modern business practice which increasingly is no more merely
production-led, but systemically designed drawing upon local
and traditional wisdom and practical effectiveness.
Change whether it is in the micro or macro
business environment, is a factor and a resource which needs
to be understood, dealt with and exploited towards triple bottom-line
performance. The lessons learned through change management,
leadership and organization development can aid managers and
decision makers towards greater organizational performances,
something which is badly needed in today’s world.
The third Asia Organization Development Network
(AODN) conference is being hosted at Assumption University
in Thailand, this year. This is our opportunity from the heart
of organizational learning in an institution such as ours,
to welcome you all with the heart of Thai hospitality into
the heart of organizational sciences which will hopefully,
give new heart to the understanding of organizational dynamics,
change management and to leadership, which we hope will lead
to new hearts not just for productivity but for the love of
the new organizations emergent upon us.
